Kemunculan Tari Belibis Berbeda dengan tarian lainnya yang ada di daerah Bali seperti cendrawasih, kecak, topeng, manukrawa. 2. Dalam pengembaraannya, Angling Dharma bertemu dengan seorang putrid raksasa pemakan manusia. Raksasa merasa khawatir rahasianya diketahui oleh Angling Dharma, dikutuklah Angling Dharma menjadi seekor burung Belibis yang hidup di air.
3. Mengisahkan Prabu Angling Dharma yang dikutuk istrinya menjadi seekor burung belibis. Dalam pengembaraannya, ia bertemu dengan sekawanan burung belibis, namun ia tidak diterima dalam kelompok itu karena bisa berbicara seperti manusia.

Dari beberapa filosofi, pada dasarnya tarian belibis terinspirasi dari burung belibis. Mungkin karena orang Bali gemar mengapresiasi dari jenis-jenis burung serta tingkah burung tersebut untuk ditiru ke dalam tarian sehingga menjadi insprisi menciptakan kreasi tarian baru. Maka dari itu terciptalah tarian seperti Tari Belibis, Cendrawasih dan lain-lain.

Gerak tari ini menunjukkan penampilan yang menarik dan harmonis dengan gamelan yang mengiringinya.Tarian ini mempunyai sayap sehingga gerakannya yang menyurapi burung belibis hampir mendekati sempurna.
